What We Do & Our Services

Restoring Dignity, Equality, and Human Rights Across Communities

At the Initiative for the Eradication of Traditional and Cultural Stigmatization in Our Society (IFETACSIOS), we believe that every human being deserves freedom, equality, and respect. As an operational non-governmental organization, our core mandate is to dismantle obnoxious traditions, customs, and all forms of the caste system across Africa.

We are not just advocates for change — we are actively on the ground, deploying practical programs to re-orient, reconcile, and integrate communities for a more equitable future.

“Cultural change is a collective effort. Every voice, every action, every contribution matters.”

How We Work

Our Core Programs & Interventions

01

Community Engagement & Advocacy

We bridge the gap between divided communities by facilitating open, honest dialogue. Our team works directly at the grassroots level, engaging intimately with all stakeholders — including victims of stigmatization, perpetrators, community leaders, and traditional rulers.

02

Re-Orientation & Reconciliation

Deeply entrenched beliefs require profound mental shifts. Our specialized re-orientation programs are designed to allay the fears of local populations and renew their mindsets. We educate communities on the devastating impacts of cultural stigmatization.

03

Abolition & Integration Funding

Transitioning a community away from centuries-old traditions requires resources. IFETACSIOS takes a hands-on approach by funding the necessary processes and stages required to achieve total abolition in target communities.

04

Post-Abolition Monitoring & Evaluation

Our work does not end when an agreement is reached. To guarantee lasting transformation, we deploy dedicated monitoring teams to communities post-abolition to track progress and ascertain the level of positive change achieved.

Active Field Projects

Our Major Initiatives & Projects

Project 01

The Eradication of the Osu Caste System

We are fiercely dedicated to the total abolition of the Osu caste system. Our teams are currently working across various communities in the Southeast region of Nigeria to ensure this discriminatory practice is permanently eradicated, restoring the rights and dignity of those affected.

Project 02 — Flagship

The IFETACSIOS Big Dream

Our ultimate milestone is a unified, historic gathering at the Okpara Square in Enugu State. “The Big Dream” aims to assemble the Igbo people in unison to formally, traditionally, and collectively abolish the Osu, Ohu, Ume, and Diala caste systems once and for all.
