Engaging All Sides You cannot heal a divided community by only speaking to one side. Our teams actively interact with everyone involved: the perpetrators of stigmatization, the victims, and the traditional rulers who hold the keys to cultural change. By facilitating open, honest conversations, we create a safe space for fears to be voiced and addressed.
The Power of Re-orientation Many discriminatory practices are kept alive simply out of fear of the unknown or fear of ancestral repercussions. Our primary tool is our re-orientation program. We work to allay these fears, educating the community and renewing mindsets. We show them the practical benefits of unity and help them realize that abolishing these evils will bring peace, not punishment, to their land.
Ensuring Lasting Integration Once a community agrees to abolish the caste system, our work enters a new phase. We fund the necessary stages to ensure a smooth transition and integration. Most importantly, we set up local monitoring teams. These teams stay vigilant to ascertain the level of positive change achieved and to ensure that the community does not slip back into old habits.
